Volo is the newest village in Lake County, incorporated in 1993.
Recreation -- Recreational opportunities include the Volo Bog, (another Volo Bog Site - and another Volo Bog Site and and another Volo Bog Site - as you can tell - we think the Volo Bog is very cool..) Fish Lake Resort, Volo Country Village and Volo Antique Auto Museum.
Schools -- Volo falls within the boundaries of McHenry Elementary School District #15, Big Hollow Elementary School District #38, Wauconda Unit School District #118, and Grant High School District #124. There are parochial schools in the village of Wauconda and in Grant Township.
Housing -- Volo features single-family residential homes on large lots. The 1994 median house sales price was $271,900 and median rent cost was $850. (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000)
Government Services -- Fire protection is provided by the Wauconda Fire Protection District and Fox Lake Fire Protection District. Police protection is provided by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
