Recreation -- Round Lake and adjacent Lakefront Park provides recreational opportunities to residents. The village maintains a boat launch ramp, a swimming beach and playground area. Other recreational facilities are provided by the Round Lake Area Park District, including several park sites, a bicycle/jogging trail through the village, and the 18 hole Renwood Golf Course.

Schools -- Round Lake Beach is primarily served by the Round Lake Unit District #116 with two elementary schools located within the village. Additional elementary, junior high, and senior high schools are located in surrounding Round Lake area communities to provide education for students. Also serving residents on the east side are Grayslake School District #46 and Grayslake High School District #127.

Housing -- Round Lake Beach has new subdivisions ranging in price from $120,000 to $175,000. The 2000 median house value was $123,000 and the median rent cost was $827. (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000) The village also has two senior citizen housing complexes and a nursing home.

Medical Facilities -- Health needs are met through an acute care facility operated through Condell Medical Center.

Government Services -- Enhanced 911 service is available to residents through CenCom, a joint agency of Round Lake area communities and the Greater Round Lake Area Fire Protection District. Round Lake Beach has its own police department.

Transportation -- The Metra Wisconsin Central Line has a depot located adjacent to the Mallard Creek Shopping Center off State Rte. 83.
