Lake County Illinois Real Estate Tax Information

Tax bills are mailed out in May in Lake County. If you do not receive your tax bill, contact the Lake County Collector at 847-377-2323. In Lake County, a single tax bill is issued for the full year’s taxes. That bill is payable in two equal installments. Lake County taxpayers DO NOT receive a second bill when the second installment is due. Taxes can be paid in person at the Lake County Treasurer’s Office, 18 N. County St. Room 102, Waukegan, IL by cash, check (payable to Lake County Collector), or by Discover Card. A fee will be assessed for those using Discover Card to pay their Real Estate taxes in the Lake County office.
