The Village of Indian Creek was incorporated in 1957. The community consists entirely of single family residences on minimum lots of one acre and single family on approximately 3 per acre. The community is nestled between Vernon Hills and Mundelein.

Recreation -- Recreational opportunities may be found in nearby communities.

Schools -- Hawthorn Elementary School District #73 serves Indian Creek and has an enrollment of 3,191 students. Two high school districts serve the village: Mundelein District #120, with an enrollment of 1,639 students, and Libertyville District #128, with an enrollment of 2,515 students. There are several parochial schools in the municipalities that surround Indian Creek.

Housing -- Village zoning requires that homes be located on minimum lot sizes of one acre, some areas may allow 3 per acre. The 2000 median house value was $236,500. (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000)

Government Services -- Fire protection is provided by the Countryside Fire Protection District. Police services are provided by the Vernon Hills Police Department.

Transportation -- Rte. 45 bisects the Village and Rte. 60 is within a short drive providing easy access to Interstate 94.
