The Village of Deer Park was incorporated in 1957.
Recreation -- Cuba Marsh and Ela Marsh Forest Preserves lie within and adjacent to the village’s northwest boundaries. Just south of the village is the Deer Grove Forest Preserve. Schools -- Deer Park is served by two unit school districts: Barrington District #220, with an enrollment of 7,695, and Lake Zurich District #95, with an enrollment of 5,769 students. There are two parochial schools in nearby Lake Zurich and one in Barrington.

Numerous local, county and state roads connect the village to surrounding communities. The Metra commuter rail station in nearby Barrington provides easy access to Chicago.
